1. Draw the thalamus as an egg-shaped object and put in the orthogonal
planes of sections and their names.
2. Understand the difference between the forebrain directions anterior,
posterior, dorsal and ventral and include them on your drawing.
3. Describe the boundaries of the thalamus.
4. Be able to Identify the thalamus on horizontal and frontal sections.
5. The most important thalamic groups for you to learn are the "sensory"
and "motor" groups. Which pathways project into each of these,
and to what part of the cortex do each in turn project.
