WEEKLY OVERVIEW
We will have the second cortex lecture on Monday. This "special cortical functions" lecture will include material on hemispheric lateralization of functions such as language and handedness. We will focus on losses of higher cortical functioning with damage to different regions of the brain.
The other two lectures this week will deal with the hypothalamus and limbic system. The hypothalamus is the control center for the autonomic system, and the limbic system is involved in important aspects of memory and behavior.
Be sure you understand the 3D layout of the hippocampus and fornix.
